Riyad Bank Launches Humanitarian and Community Initiatives to Support National Efforts During the Hajj Season
As part of its ongoing efforts to promote comprehensive sustainable development and maximize social impact, and in support of the national efforts dedicated to serving pilgrims and enabling them to perform their rituals with ease, Riyad Bank, through its “Bukra” social responsibility program, has launched a number of humanitarian and community initiatives targeting various segments of society during the Hajj season. The initiatives included a blood donation campaign for the Guests of Alrahman, the national initiative for Hajj for people with disabilities, in addition to an initiative aimed at empowering productive families through dedicated sales booths in Makkah and the holy sites.
In this context, Nadir Al-Koraya, CEO of Riyad Bank, emphasized that these initiatives represent an extension of the Bank’s role and continuous efforts to foster comprehensive and sustainable development in the Kingdom, as well as its commitment to building effective partnerships that ensure meaningful impact and growth across all levels. He added that the initiatives also reflect the Bank’s dedication to supporting national efforts aimed at enhancing readiness, and mobilizing the best capabilities to serve the pilgrims of the Holy mosque.
The blood donation campaign, which launched from May 10–23 in partnership with the Friends of Blood Banks Charity (Dami), targeted all segments of the community across four regions of the Kingdom. Throughout the campaign, the association’s centers across the Kingdom welcomed donors to support blood banks in Makkah and help meet the increasing demand during the 1447 Hajj season.
Riyad Bank also partnered with Nusuk Humanitarian Foundation, under the supervision of the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, and Nafh Al-Amal Association to launch a national campaign enabling people with disabilities to perform Hajj with dignity and safety, while providing comprehensive logistical and medical support. The initiative aims to serve 400 beneficiaries from across the Kingdom, including individuals with mobility, visual, and upper limb disabilities, in addition to 200 companions.
In addition, the productive families empowerment initiative, launched in partnership with Nusuk Humanitarian Foundation and in collaboration with the Royal Commission for Makkah City and Holy Sites and Jana Center, comes under the economic and social empowerment path of the “Bokra” program. The initiative aims to establish direct-sales booths for 80 productive families from social security beneficiaries and low-income groups through 40 dedicated sales kiosks across Makkah and the holy sites. These booths offer products that cater to pilgrims’ needs, contributing to sustainable income opportunities for participating families while enhancing the pilgrims’ overall experience.
These initiatives add to Riyad Bank’s broader portfolio of social responsibility programs and projects designed to create sustainable social and developmental impact, in alignment with the bank’s strategic objectives and Saudi Vision 2030 toward building a vibrant society and an ambitious nation.
