The Riyad Bank Contactless Credit Card has a chip and a radio frequency antenna embedded. When the Contactless Credit Card is tapped against a terminal enabled for contactless payments, the card transmits payment details wirelessly, eliminating the need to insert the card. Account details are communicated to the reader and then processed through the secure Visa or MasterCard® acceptance network in the same way as had you inserted the card.

The Riyad Bank Contactless Credit Card uses secure encryption technology (the same as CHIP and PIN) so you can confidently use it. Besides, it never has to leave your hand when a payment is made, you will always be in control – giving you added security to the card.

Anywhere with a Contactless payment PoS Machine, the card can be used to tap and pay. If a contactless PoS machine is not available, the Contactless card can still be used for swipe or dip transactions.

You need to be at least 4cm away from a PoS terminal to waive for a purchase otherwise you can also directly ‘tap’ on the terminal screen.

You will hear a beep/see a light and receive a slip from the merchant, as well as receive an SMS and e-mail on your registered contact details once the transaction is successful.
